Wham-O To Start Making Video Games

Tuesday, July 31st, 2007

An interesting article at GameInformer.com states:

Wham-O Inc. announced today that it’s reached an agreement with FOG Studios to bring its toys—including the Frisbee, Slip ‘N Slide, Hula Hoop and Hacky Sack—to the video-game world. Read the Full Article

Hopefully this will mean more exposure for the sport of footbag in mainstream media. Although I would be interested to see exactly how they translate footbag into a console game. Can you imagine playing footbag on the Wii? That would probably ruin a few ontrollers.

In the article FOG talks about Dance Pads being used to recreate unique “foot toss” games like Hacky Sack. Very interesting.

Google Footbags

A Google search for “footbags” shows a few interesting ads:

Here is a screenshot in case the ad isn’t active when you search for it (click to view larger image):

The only problem is that clicking on the Ad takes you to a page that says, “Oops! Sorry but it looks like we do not have any products to display. Please check back soon.”

I can only assume that the product they are meaning to link to is the “Footie Bag“. Or maybe the ad is for a new product they haven’t released yet?

Gumball 32 SandWe finally have the Summer 2007 line of footbags in! The very popular Midnight 32 (all black with one red panel) is back and is now available in Mini size. We also have a sweet new all-white 32 panel mini footbag, the Snowball. Here is a quick rundown of the new bags that are now available:

  • Barrage 14Barrage 14 $26
    Black/White/Sand
  • Wave 32 Sand $22
Light Blue/Dark Blue - Beautiful color combo, this is a very unique looking footbag
  • Scorpion 32 Metal Mini $26
Black/Sand. This is the best footbag we have ever released.

We are excited about the new product line, our new metal/plastic filler has proven to be very popular and we have a bunch of new footbags with this filler. Why metal/plastic? This combination adds over 20 grams of weight to the footbag which helps with control over kicks and sets. Our metal/plastic footbags weight 50-60 grams while a typical sand or pellet footbag will weight 20-35 grams. A very affordable metal/plastic filled bag is the new Dragon 32 ($14).

We have a couple new designs coming in next week as well so stay tuned! As always if you have any questions please feel free to contact us or leave a comment here, we appreciate hearing from you!

15 New Footbags Coming Next Week

Thursday, July 5th, 2007

We will be launching 15 new footbags late next week at the Footbag Shop. Join our newsletter to be notified the day that our new footbags are released.

Some of the new bags include 14 panel Facile Mini bags, 32 panel Facile footbags with our new Metal/Plastic filler, and a sweet new 92 panel color combo.

We are also going to re-release the Midnight 32 Metal. This bag was a custom color combo recommended by one of our customers, the bag is all black with one red panel and was made for shredders who can’t stand the look of a dirty footbag. We also have a really sweet all-white 32 panel sand-filled footbag.

So check back next week to pick up a sweet new footbag! Want to know as soon as the new line is released? Join our newsletter (Your info is always private, we never rent or sell it and you can unsubscribe anytime you want. We hate spam as much as you do!) or subscribe to our Blog RSS Feed.
